Sue's interest in the UFO phenomenon was sparked when she had her first sighting at the age of eight, along with her family, of an orange, cigar-shaped object hovering over the Bombay Hills south of Auckland. It was sighted by hundreds of people and was reported the next day in the national newspaper, the New Zealand Herald. Sue began seriously researching UFO's and related phenomena in 1975, as a result of years of sightings and close encounter contact experiences.

Sue has been speaking nationally and internationally at UFO conferences and to other interested groups for over 15 years. She established UFOCUS NZ in 2000, as a research, investigation, and information network to contribute to the growing public interest in UFO's, extraterrestrial entities, contact phenomena, and other related topics. She networks with researchers and international speakers worldwide.
