Karen Ong is a Registered Nurse, and married mother of three and the founder and Director of SCETTAL, Study Centre for Extraterrestrial Technology and Life. Karen has worked in various area’s of nursing including oncology and telephone triage, and as during her role as a project manager was responsible for the set up and implementation of health initiatives for various state government departments of health.
Through researching her family’s and her own experiences, Karen recognised that there was a lack of information and education relating to this subject available for the Western Australian public to access. Additionally, Karen noted that there were many people who shared their experiences with her, who were afraid to speak publicly about their experiences through fear of public ridicule and scrutiny.
Karen had privately researched the UFO and Extraterrestrial phenomena for a number of years before deciding that the UFO community required further support in getting the information into the public domain. It is through education and dissemination of information that Karen believes there can be a transformation of public perception in this area. She feels that education at the ground roots level starting with our school children is imperative to initiate a change of public perception into this area.
Through this decision, Karen has undertaken studies with CSETI (Centre for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence) headed by Dr Steven Greer in July 2005. Following this, Karen joined the Disclosure Project as an Australian representative and continues to seek out witnesses who are prepared to give evidence to their involvement with, or their direct knowledge of, UFO and ET activities.
Karen’s hope, through the utilisation of tools such as CSETI CE5 contact protocols and exopolitical initiatives such as Dr Michael Salla’s citizen’s diplomacy, is that the ordinary citizen will play a pivotal role in the human initiation of diplomatic interactions with visiting off world cultures.

SCETTAL is a non for profit organisation whose mission is to conduct and record a professional and scientific examination of all phenomena relating to Extraterrestrial Intelligence including identifying credible military, government or non government ‘whistleblowers’ involved in covert projects, to disseminate this information into the public arena, and to additionally ensure that the public have the tools to establish citizens diplomatic groups as a point of contact with extraterrestrial intelligence from various off world cultures. It is envisaged that the organisation will evolve into a centre of excellence in the study of Extraterrestrial intelligence and act as a community resource for the purpose of scientific study, education and support to the general public and professional bodies in Australia and abroad.
The organisation is mindful of the ET-Human relationship and in the development of the peaceful furtherance of this relationship.
The SCETTAL purpose is multi tiered and has a number of objectives.
Firstly our aim is to document and record anomalous events involving witness testimony and evidence of phenomena otherwise known as or referred to as:
- ‘UFO’s (Unidentified Flying Objects), UAP’s (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena), Non-Terrestrial Craft, Flying Saucers, Balls of light etc. These phenomena will be referred to by SCETTAL as ‘UFO’s’, ‘ETV’ (Extra Terrestrial Vehicle) ‘Vehicles’, ‘Craft’ or ‘Orbs’.
- ETI (Extraterrestrial Intelligence), ETE (Extraterrestrial Entities) or EBE (Extraterrestrial Biological Entities).
- Other, anomalous phenomena unknown to the experiencer but believed by the experiencer to be related to UFO or ETI. These may include but are not limited to events such as; unusual mists, apparitions, dreams or other non physical, visual or auditory contact with alleged ETI’s.
It is important that this information is collected, collated, recorded and archived to ensure it’s availability to the general public and other professional bodies for public record.
Our second objective is to investigate anomalous events within a scientific framework, such as the measurement, recording and analysis of physical evidence relating to the site or experiencer within the guidelines of the SCETTAL organisations ‘Code of Ethics’. It is through this scientific foundation that SCETTAL endeavours to promote acceptance of extraterrestrial intelligence and technology as observable facts. Our intention is to significantly reduce the stigma attached to this phenomenon thereby enabling further community and scientific involvement and disclosure in this area. We honour the express wishes of the experiencer throughout the investigation process in addition to providing emotional and/or professional support should it be required or requested by the experiencer.
Our third objective involves activity within the Disclosure Project. We aim to work in collaboration with other organisations to fully disclose the facts about UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence, and classified advanced energy and propulsion systems.
Where possible, the organisation obtain information from government, military, and intelligence community witnesses, in addition to credible witnesses from private organisations such as commercial airline pilots or air traffic controllers, who are willing to give evidence to their direct, personal, first hand experience with UFOs, ETE’s and ET technology, and share and disseminate this information with relevant Disclosure organisation and associated professionals for dissemination to the general public.
Lastly, but most significantly, SCETTAL utilise CE5 Initiatives and citizen’s diplomacy initiatives to establish communications with ET races wherever possible. SCETTAL believes that the citizens of earth, not merely the governments of earth, can and will play a significant role in establishing and maintaining multilateral and mutually beneficial relationships with visiting non earth cultures, for the betterment of the collective. With this mandate, SCETTAL will endeavour to identify and train individuals and groups in CE5 initiatives to ensure a balanced and corroborative relationship with extraterrestrial races is achieved.
SCETTAL fully supports the worldwide collective effort to ban weapons in space.
